What is MARS
MARS IT SCHOOL is a school of modern technology for children and teenagers, where we teach programming, computer skills and artificial intelligence.
Our goal is to develop a creator’s mindset in children and prepare them for a future where technology plays a key role.
Age tracks
MARS Kids (ages 8–12)
Children begin exploring technology through simple, intuitive visual programming. This develops:
- logic;
- algorithmic thinking;
- creativity;
- an understanding of programming fundamentals.
MARS Teens (ages 12–17)
Students study real programming and build their own IT projects. They learn to:
- build websites;
- create Telegram bots;
- write program logic;
- work with databases;
- use AI in their work.
Before starting, students complete 1 month of preparation: computer skills, fast typing, digital literacy, AI basics.
Why this matters for the future
Even now almost no profession can function without a computer. In the future these demands will only grow. Beyond computer skills, in-demand abilities will include:
- working with artificial intelligence;
- working with various programs and services;
- the ability to build your own programs and projects;
- critical and logical thinking when solving problems.
After studying at MARS, a child can not only use technology but also create it. Studying at MARS is preparation for a life where IT will be a key tool in every profession.
The impact of learning on a child
When children study IT and AI, they develop systematic and critical thinking:
- A child learns to build a sequence of actions, solve problems logically, and see the connections between steps.
- Results improve in other subjects too — mathematics, physics, the exact sciences.
- Working on projects helps them understand real-world processes: clients, finance, sales, user experience.
In the future the child grasps new topics faster, can build projects, analyze complex situations, and make decisions with a full understanding of the processes involved.
How the learning works
Each lesson lasts 1 hour and includes:
- Reviewing homework and projects
- Explaining a new topic
- Hands-on practice in class
Structure of a month
Each month consists of 12 lessons:
- Lessons 1–5 — learning new topics
- Lesson 6 — project work
- Lessons 7–11 — learning new topics
- Lesson 12 — project work
In project lessons students build and present their projects.
Demo Days
Every 3–4 months we hold Demo Days: parents are invited to class, children present their projects, and parents see their child’s progress.
The Space platform
Space is MARS’s internal platform for teaching and motivating students. It includes:
- homework;
- projects;
- a work-review system;
- MARS Coins and a gift shop;
- a feed for publishing projects;
- video courses;
- games for developing logic;
- ranks and leaderboards.
Motivation system
For activity and good results, students earn MARS Coins. They can be exchanged for real gifts in the internal shop.
Coworking and student support
All branches have coworking areas where students can do homework, work on projects, and review material.
Tutors in the coworking space help students work through difficult topics, catch up on missed material, and get extra explanations. Tutor support is included in the tuition.
Support team
- Mentor — the group’s main teacher, responsible for the learning and results of the students.
- Curator — keeps parents informed about their child’s progress.
- Administrator — helps with organizational matters.
Life beyond the classroom
Every Sunday MARS holds events for students: games and tournaments, movie screenings, hackathons, competitions and other activities. All of this is included in the tuition.
Interns
The best students can become Intern.
Who can become an Intern
Students who have studied with us for at least a year, applied, passed interviews, and completed technical and soft-skills exams.
What Interns do
- help mentors during lessons;
- help students who are falling behind;
- take part in branch life.
Intern privileges
- a special badge;
- access to the teachers’ area;
- the ability to attend any lessons for extra learning;
- participation in internal staff events;
- participation in team-building activities.
The Intern Program develops leadership in students, prepares future MARS employees, and strengthens the community within the school.
Professional courses
After the main program, students can move on to a professional course lasting 12 months. It covers more advanced topics:
- working with servers;
- Node.js;
- Docker;
- software architecture;
- advanced development skills.
The main focus is building complex projects and assembling a strong portfolio.
